2008 CL550 AC not working blowing hot air

Hi all,
My 55,000 mile 2008 CL550 stopped blowing cold air all of a sudden. It had been working amazing with auto always set to 72 and then one day, leaving the company party on a hot day I got in and it began blowing hot air at me. I swear for one second after startup it blew cold air then hot, but I can't be sure. I have been driving it like this for over 10 days now while I've looked into this and it continues to not work. I checked all the fuses that I was able to find based off of an online fuse chart (my car did not come with one) and they all seem to be good. the car is not throwing any codes when hooked up to my code reader. I am reluctant to admit that the pump failed on a low mileage car and after working for about 6,000 miles after my purchase. Is there any way to test the compressor? Some forums have indicated this happens after a telematics update. The only update I did was the navigation with the CD and that was 2k miles ago. Any help before I bring it to the stealership would be appreciated!!

Sounds like you may have sprung a leak in the system and lost all the refrigerant.

I wanted Mercedes to take a look at the problem as I have been busy with work but when they said that there was a month wait for an appointment, I dug into it myself and found the problem. A piece from the actual clutch pulley assembly had broken off causing the clutch to not function at all. The attached photo shows what I am talking about. It is the piece on the right that broke and flew off the pully. I am hoping I can fix this without pulling the compressor. Phew, what a relief. This is a common problem so I hope this helps somebody. I will post updates regarding the replacement procedure.
