Intermittent Operation of Night View Assist ?
I have a 2012 CL 550 4Matic with 80,000 KMS, with Night View Assist. I have turned it on successfully on very early mornings when its quite dark out and it seems to operate well for about 8-10 minutes before it shuts off and gives me the Night View Assist Inoperative warning. I have turned it off and back on again and still get same warning. Stopped the Car, shut the car off and restarted and still get same warning. I have tried in the evenings when its quite dark and have same issues, sometimes it works and sometimes not. Does any one have any suggestions as to what might be the issue? If there is a common cause, I would appreciate knowing what it is.

I had the dealer diagnose the issue and it was the Night View Assist Control Module. They wanted $2120.00 CDN for the part!!! So I bought used for $200.00 (Canadian Dollars delivered) from a parts dealer in California. Doe anyone know if there is a special procedure for installing this module or is it just plug and play ?
