I have a 2012 CL550 4Matic...came from factory with Sport Package Plus which included 20" x 8.5" five lug, five spoke AMG wheels (same on front and rear). The owner before me changed the rims to different 20" rims from an E63. I just bent one and would like to change them all to 19" x 8.5". ( I live in Michigan) Anything technical I should watch out for? I already tried a new set of 20 x 8.5, 5 lug from an S550, but they didn't fit...brake calipers rubbed, and it was a fiasco. Any advice from those of you smarter than me about what to look for? For starters, everything seems to be staggered, but MB says the CL550 4Matics, even with 20's were not staggered. Thanks for your help! current 20" x 8.5" 5 lug 255/35/ZR20
My 2010 came with 20-in wheels, and I switch to 18-in wheels with winter tires in … winter. W221/C216 wheels of course. Don’t change offset with wheels from other models
your owners manual likely lists wheel information.
I'd like to ditch my staggered 19 inch wheels for 18 inch W221 wheels....anyone know if this works? The specs all seem the same in terms of 8.5x18 and 43 offset, but the official MB page says it won't fit my 2008 CL550. I know it is an odd choice, but I'd rather have 18's for comfort and winter use, and be able to rotate the tires for longevity.
