CL550, soft door close - works on passenger side, not on driver side?
Any fix?

They wear out over time--the actuator. Driver side gets more activity than the passenger. You will likely need a replacement, and a good code reader if you don't already have one.

Nath H, thankyou very much, want to avoid vacuum pump replacement (VACCUUM PUMP – LIST $1436.00 ka ching ka ching) if at all possible,
In the last 3 coupes I purchased 2 almost, as if this part is MB planned obsolescence, (a money maker after 100K miles) strategy.

Will return car to service bay to explore your suggestion.

Recently replaced the pulse surge damper and filter and 16 litres of expensive fluid $1900 - better than ABC pump.

When they replaced my door closure under warranty they said it was an electric switch in the handle and that this generation didn’t use vacuum for soft close. The 215 and the C217 did but not the 216. At least that was what I was told.
