Good afternoon. I realize that the Device not Available is an issue that comes up on some of these cars and was hoping someone could summarize the issue for me before I stop by a local (recommended) car audio guy. Helps to have an idea about what is likely wrong.
My symptoms: No sound from stereo or CD. Just Device Not Available message on screen. Everything else working fine.
I believe the part in question is located in the trunk. Any info would be appreciated.

You might want to search the W221 forum, as there's been lots of discussion there about this matter. The amplifier on these frequently go bad. That is a likely culprit. Originally Posted by SDFarrell
