In October I was gifted a 2008 CL550 and it was a blast, until I got a CEL for the transmission. The code that came back for for the pressure solenoid in the conductor plate. I took it to a local euro specialist and he did some test and reprogramming to no avail. We decided to proceed with replacing the solenoid, but as soon as he drained the trans he had way too much fluid come out and stopped the process. He feels the transmission has probably failed due to being over filled at a shop the previous owner took it to.
Do I proceed and do the solenoid, do I do a new transmission, or do I consider it a loss and sell it?

You've been driving it for 6 months with too much fluid and only experienced a problem just now? I'd replace the solenoid, add the correct amount of fluid and see what happens.
