At every car show, every woman I have gone with will sit in the SLK, the CLK, sometimes the SL, but they ignore the S, and the CL. I was in the MB section, and there was a CL65 there... I watched for 5 minutes... girls would walk right past the CL65, and try out the SLK. Even worse... Mini was 10 feet away and there was a pile of women around the convertible, but not one female to be found looking at the $180,000 MB next to it.

Its not surprising at all AMG2GO, if you would've ask me, I'll say CL is targetted at people over 40's and it really does seems like it.

We must accept the fact that CL is NOT considered a sports car.. it afterall is a Huge Coupe..

I am starting to fall in love with the CLS.. it is so sexy.. damn.

I forgot to add, sadly to say, the CL has an old man image. Dont get me wrong, it is a beautiful car! No doubt, with its natural curves and svelte designs but it still looks more for older segments of the customers.

Hey, just turned 27 down here. I own my own Post production bussines where we do editing, animation and retouching.

Agreed, its a car for an older crowd, but damn, it feels so nice i don't care. If i want to look young i'll go around on my superModed Boxster :-)

Take Care

Frank

I drive what I enjoy driving, even if people make fun of my "old man car." I've since come to the conclusion that women in general don't really care about cars. Or, maybe I'm just lucky to have the one who's dream car was a Jetta...

Looks like the avg age on here is well below MB's 47 yr old target. Guess it's kinda the same as Sony's Play Station - meant for kids, but mostly used by younger males 18-30.

The CL does give that older man vibe but considering how sexy it is i don't care one bit. I love the car! I have never owned a car where people (young and old) drool and compliment so much - and i have owned some decent cars in the past. I think being an AMG appeals to the younger market while the style and MB status appeals to the older crowd.

Oh well, i'm just thankful that i am lucky enough to enjoy this car everyday.

btw i am 30 and i own/run an ad agency

Their target is probably right on, but I know my parents (in their early 50's) would never come on a forum like this. They're lucky they know how to turn their computer on. I dream of the day my mother learns to resize pictures before she sends the e-mail... :p

Would that business happen to be latex/glove business? I work with a large wholesale/retail medical glove supplier and we do a lot of business with Malaysia. BTW I'm 28 and drive a "CL" from 2 generations ago, but still pretty fast.

58 years old & own a registered investment advisory firm. Know how to turn a computer. Passions for the last 20 years include kickboxing and strength training so I guess that one is as old as one feels. Sons ages are 27,30 and 32 and they could care less about cars.

My 14 year old neighbor kid thinks its the coolest thing, and the other day I had 4 older business guys in suits who were in their late 50's staring inside. Does anyone know what the average is?
