need new tires after 6,000 miles!!
thanks for all your input!

Generally speaking when you move into the realm of performance tires you're not going to find tires designed to give you long tread life. And as you note judicious use of the right pedal while thumbing the esp button shortens their life further.
Unfortunately with performance tires you seriously don't want to mix 'n match, either. You might end up with some really, really bizarre handling since the tires are designed to work together.
I'd suggest you might consider re-posting this over in the tire/wheel forum and ask Luke what he thinks. He may have a suggestion for a higher-mileage tire to replace all four, and then you could always try to sell your old fronts. Or he may know of a tire that is compatible with the Pirellis so you could use up the fronts. My understanding is that tire rack does give you a decent discount when you follow Luke's ordering process, as well.
Good luck and enjoy that sweeeeeeet ride,

Greg
