That said, they're very different cars in most other respects.

oh, did I also say the MB weighs 1400lbs more?

That video isn't very informative, to be honest.
What's weight go to do with it? My Range Rover Supercharged weighs 6300lbs with me and my wife in it, but that's doesn't make it faster than the CL65!

The MB weighs 1400 lbs more, and yet is marginally slower... THAT SAYS A LOT FOR THE MB.
This is what I'm trying to say..

We're talking about apples and oranges here! They're both GREAT cars respectively. Keep in mind that, both cars should have the same "mods". In other words, you need to get an LS1 Edit done to the Vette to have a more accurate test. An LS1 Edit to the Vette is the same as getting the ECU remapped on the Benz. Anyway, this could posibly raise the HP on the Vette roughly about 10% to 550HP. Now run the cars and see what happens!
On the other side of the coin, consider that the Z06 Vette has a manual trans so......unless you can shift the thing perfectly and get it out of the hole without a lot of wheel spin, you're done! With the Benz......you pretty much just squeeze the pedal to the floor and hold on for the ride! It's a "no brainer".
As a Z06 Vette owner, my conclusion is..........the Vette has the advantage on a rolling start. The Benz has the advantage out of the hole. With a PERFECT driver in both cars, the Vette is probaly supposed to win either race. Fortunately for you Benz guys.......there are not many Perfect Z06 Vette drivers around!

MB lists the CL65 @ 4654, GM lists the new Z06 @ 3132 (just trying to compare apples to apples - using MFR curb weight). The CL65 has a twin turbo 6L V12. I think that more than makes up for the extra 1.0L displacement advantage the Z06 has in it's V8
And as far as the CL65 vs. C6 Z06 - the video shows how a modded CL65 fares against a stock Z06, correct? It's difficult to use the video to compare stock vehicles because an ECU reflash on the 65 could easily increase boost over stock.
It's obvious that from a roll, a modded CL65 can beat a C6 Z06.

CL65's are awesome cars. Nobody here should get offended if someone says a c6 ZO6 is fast, Chevy has come a long way, and they finally made a car that looks good on the road and is fast as hell. Its about damn time.
