How amicable do you all think a dealer would be to an offer close to invoice for a 2006 cl55? Should i even bother getting this car knowing that the upcoming style is due out at the tail end of 2006? The invoice on this particular car is $117k.

I wouldn't think there would be any problem with starting with an initial offer less than invoice, say 25% off sticker. They may not think you are "serious" at that much off, but on the other had, you would STILL be offering a big number, nontheless.
There is a rebate/incentive on these cars now, IMC.

There is an '05 loaded CL600 @ MB of Escondido for $25K off $134k sticker. $15k from MBUSA and $10k from dealer. It is a demo that was driven by the owner. It's been for sale since last December when I bought my CL. I'm really surprised that people are buying CLSs and E classes approching the $100k of this CL600.
There is a new black/black 2005 CL 600, msrp $132,770 you can buy for $100,000.
Keep in mind that the new style CL55 wont be out until at least a 2008 model. 2007 will not include a AMG in the line up.
Mclaren, you mentioned there is incentives on the CL55. any sense for how much that is and/or where you found that info from?

What I remember is a recent Chicago Tribune Auto section showing the incentives (the paper prints these every Sunday) and that the CL55 came up on the list. However, this may have been for a 2005 and not a 2006. Originally Posted by simontam0

I still support your original idea of going invoice or even lower.
