transmission going????
Hey All,
Well I had to make a VERY long drive today for work from Rancho down to SD.....I was doing an avg of 90ish down to SD, and I came to a very nice straight away....so I floored it. After a few secs of fun I pulled off the gas and everything was the way it was suppose to be. But when I tried to floor it again the RPMs went up but the car didn't increase in speed. Tried it again, and the same thing happend. So I let the speed drop down to about 60 and then hit it....and like always, it took off running.
I am thinking it was because of all the hard driving for the long length of time, but the more I think about it, the more I am thinking something is up with the transmission.
Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, but any thoughts or input would be GREAT!

About a year ago I had an air pump fail while I was driving hard in the San Gabriels with somewhat similar symptoms. It's been awhile, so I can't remember which pump failed. There's a factory recall going on right now for another air pump in the emissions system. I don't know if any of this is relevant, but I did have similar symptoms with the first pump failure. I'd check with the dealer.
