CL600 or CL63

I am estimating you could buy a CL600 with the AMG sport package and have the Renntech stage 1 done for about 10k more than buying a loaded CL63. This would give you 625 hp and 745 lbs of torque. You would not get the AMG tuned suspension but would be able to blow a 63 away in acceleration and could hang with or possibly beat the new CL65 once it becomes available.
Seems like an easy decision.

Yup, I'd take a 600 over a 63 any day....just can't beat twin turbo torque, both in stock trim and especially when modded.

First of all, CL's don't handle very well in the first place so I wouldn't worry so much about handling. Secondly, the disparity between the 600 and the 63 engines is so vast and the tuning capabilities so much more apparent for the 600, its a complete no-brainer. Before you had the choice between the amazing supercharged and sporty v8 and the rocket-boosted v12, now its just an obvious choice, go for the six.

I feel like the new 63's are going to be useless for the the SL, CL, and S classes. Who would get a n/a V8 with 507hp+- and 480tq+_ when you can get a V12TT with 510+hp and 600+tq for a very similiar price. I think the 63's are going to be a big failure for these cars because although when walking into a dealership and seeing the AMG badge and thinking that it must be fast, most people do take test drives. I'm sure that after somebody tests the 63 and 600 there will be no hesitation to go with the 600.

For the E and CLS, it will be a different story. The only high powered engine available to them will be the 63.

And I'm now hearing rumours that AMG officials have no plans on making a twin turbo V8. So, I think the 63 will be a car, no offense to anybody who ordered one.

And don't forget the 600 can be tuned to 685 HP
There are some people who have their 600 engines tuned to way over 625 horsepower and 745 torque actually. There is a gentlemen here on our forums with an SL 600 that has 910 lb/ft of torque and something like 685 horsepower. Hmmm, let's see .... :-)

Even if Kleemann put a supercharger on the all new 6.3 liter V-8, which they soon will for sure along with renntech also, it still won't be able to make anywhere over 750 lb/ft of torque unless somebody seriously works on strenthening that new 7-Speed trans.
