Hi,

Please help! Has anybody experienced any difficulty using their ipod via the command system? For the first few weeks everything was fine, but now from the steering wheel, I can only control the volume. The menus no longer appear on the instrument cluster. All I get is the message 'ipod' error.'

I'm curious; how did you have it hooked up? What year car do you have?

I have a 2001 CL55 and am trying to figure out how to integrate the iPod.

I have a CLS 63 so it is this year's model. I purchased the integration kit from mercedes as a factory option.

if you bought it from MB, bring it back, sounds like their issue to me. Anything thats giving you an error message is more than likely something that can be fixed. Good Luck.

I beleive the factory Ipod integration kit is for model year 2004 and later.

Are you guys sure? The best information I have is that the integration kit doesn't work with CL or S class because the COMAND system was made by a different manufacturer and doesn't have an AUX port:

The iPod Integration Kit for Mercedes-Benz is now available for the redesigned 2006 M-Class SUV, C-Class (MY05 and newer), CLK-Class (MY05 and newer), E-Class (MY04 and newer), CLS-Class (MY06), and SLK-Class (MY05 and newer; vehicles equipped with COMAND [Cockpit Management and Data system] system only). Upon vehicle introduction, the solution will be available for the new 2006 R-Class.

You may be right. My 2003 has the AUX port but it doesn't have the MOST fiber bus that the 2004+ car have.

I checked with steve on this board and was told I couldn't get the factory Ipod kit because no aux input. Some company is working on a way of using the most system to add aux inputs. I will try to post up the site.
