My CL 55 is 57k miles old... and it says it's time for "B Service" ... what does that include? transmission flush/fill? Coolant flush/fill? plugs? airfilter? oil?

Change your vehicle's engine oil and filter
Replace the dust filter in all SLK, CLK, C-Class and E-Class models, and in S-Class and SL-Class models without the active charcoal filter
Replace windshield wiper inserts
Inspect and rotate tires
Lubricate and inspect throttle linkage
Ensure the parking brake, steering play, headlamps and exterior lamps, warning and indicator lamps, horn, windshield/headlamp wiper and washer systems, seat belts, and backrest lock (S-Class only) are functioning correctly
Inspect tires and check tire pressure (including spare)
Inspect brake pad thickness and disc condition
Inspect front axle ball joints and Poly-V-belt
Check and correct all fluid levels
Reset your vehicle's FSS counter
*Model year 1998 through 2004 vehicles are equipped with the Flexible Service System (FSS)

What is type B??
*** rape.. that's what it is.. Basically, you are paying oil change + cabin filters changed + "visual check up" for around $500.

This guy basically said it. MB makes a long list of what they do, but 80 percent of what they "do" is checking. They charge you extra if something is actually wrong. I had all of those things checked and done just for the hell of it for less than a B service at a local auto shop. I have not gone to the mercedes dealer in years. iv'e also saved thousands.Originally Posted by Quicktwinturbo

Most of that stuff looks DIY. I'll just take it to my local shop. Then again, my Allroad is up for the 60k service, so the wife's car goes first! Both cars need brakes, too.Originally Posted by Nate

What's the interval for timing belt/chain (not sure what the CL55 has.) My car came sans owners manual.
