aren't all the v12 cars longer from the front of the doors forward? they used to be. perhaps that has something to do with it?

besides the looks, I'd still get the 63 for it's motor. You have to drive it before you make your decision. 63 AMG motor is so easy to drive both short and long distance at any speed, I guess the NA characteristic. Eventhough on paper 600 will probably almost always win with a little engine chip mod, you still can't deny the sluggishness of V12 TT motor in and out of the traffic until the roads open up a bit.

Give it a try first, I did in 07 E63 vs 05 E55, and once more in CLS63 (compare to my CL600 which is heavier).

Yep, I can copy that - just like the MB SA I asked for a list of options on the 2007 SL65. His answer: "They haven't been released by now..". Five minutes later, he gives me a brochure including all options - Ouch!

Or my second question: "Can I order the SL55 with the 030 Performance Package?" (I wanted to test his knowledge to see if I could ever purchase such a car from him). His answer: "Oh, I have no idea.."

.
Something may be wrong with your TT CL. Mine was never sluggish. With over 580 lb-ft of tq available at 1800 rpm, I'll have to disagree. If you really feel your car is sluggish, get the Renntech ECU tune and have around 800 lb-ft of torque and over 600 hp.

you maybe right on the note of torque, however I believe it's less responsive still compare to normally aspirated. Don't get me wrong, V12 TT is by far the most powerful car I've owned. However, I feel too pampered or maybe the car just isn't for supercar performance. I feel it's too smooth (shouldn't use the word sluggish perhaps), just too smooth in town or maybe the way the stock transmission ECU is programmed. Not sure, here. I won't be complaining if I had the Renntech, I'm sure I wont be complaining (or atleast for a little bit until I want more from it ) but hey, I enjoy the smooth rides.

We just picked up our CL600 with the AMG package up here and it's absolutely, positively ASTONISHING. (Pics coming soon.) I don't even know where to begin to describe how f#%@ing incredible this machine is.

As you probably know, Speed Thrills, the AMG kit on the 600 is a bit different than the 63. It's not two-toned and overall it's much smoother. I personally think it compliments the lines of the rest of the car better. But that's personal preference. The one thing nice about the 63 are those AMG brakes; the calipers, especially the ones in the front which wrap half way around the rotor. The 600 has "regular" Mercedes brakes.

As for performance, it's definitely not sluggish. I drove a CLS 55 before this, and while the CLS is a bit more aggressive and responsive with the handling, the V12 is quicker - smoother - but quicker. The sheer power in your hands and on your foot is ridiculous, and if you do any modding to it, well, that's your point, n'est pas?

Get your kit and join the club. Oh, and the interior of the 600 is better than the AMG. There's little badges on the seats which say "V12" - just awesome.
