New Record Run for my CL600!!!

We had another track rental today, weather stayed ok with no rain so we had a chance to run in some of the last "cool" temps for a bit. I now have the quickest posted ET and highest trap speed for any 600 Bi-Turbo (S,CL,SL). It was an awesome day, Stephen with his RennTech modded S600 also posted some record times today also as well as my buddy Craig with his RennTech C55.

11.14 @ 125.94MPH

mods:
18" BFG Drag Radials
AMG ECU/TCU
93/104 race gas mix

I purchased the car like that a couple of months ago, the previous tuner had a connection that can no longer be exploited.

That's incredible Jay.
I previously took some comfort in the idea that you were less than 1 second faster than my 55.
Comfort gone, hopes dashed, I bow to your greatness!

1st let me then tell you even though I'm in a Vette now your times are outstanding!! Eclipsing a lot of supercharged C6's sure some run 10's or even 9's but this is flat out retarded considering weight, creature comforts, etc...I'll be posting this on all the Vette forums I can find, a lot of these guys have not a clue what these Bi-turbs are capable of.

I'm sure you know of "Rangers" super stock time/run of 10.85x in his C6 Z06, believe only mod was drag rads, at this same track you ran, sure doesn't impress me anymore knowing a heavy *** CL would be breathing down his neck the entire run nice job

Curious do you loose any traction during these runs(obviously besides launch)? or just smooth sailing the whole way? & what width drag rads? 285-295-305-

These times are fckin unbelievable! Congratulations on having a freak of a car. Is this car your daily driver? How hard is it to launch on street tires?

Please post some vids and pics of your car, its a legend now.

Now I'm convinced that I need to get a tuned CL65...

You should go for the RennTech airbox and maybe give it some minor exhaust tweeks, you may be able to dip into the 10's.

This is just so unfair lol

German Supra lol.

But I wouldn't touch those turbos.

Does the 65 have different turbos or intercooler?

I can imagine a broken tranny, we have to find the limits of the stock turbos first.

thanks, but curious what you personally think my ET would be if i had a 15 second reaction time

thanks for the kinds words, its funny you bring up Ranger as I watched him set records on the old C5Z06 in person a waaaays back, yes I am familiar with his capabilities in wringing every last bit out of a vehicle. Track prep is extremely important when trying to launch a 4500LB+ car with over 700TQ at the wheels, as well as heating both tires completely in the burnout stage. I use a 265/40/18 BFG DR

thanks, yes its my daily driver and there are some vids coming of some slower runs and some pics from yesterday. LOL its far from a legend as I can only imagine that theres someone faster who has never taken their car to a track or doesnt post on the internet to gloat 65 has different turbos, although the partnumber is different on the 65 intercooler I think they are the same..and you dont launch on street tires, is will spin from a 45mph roll

so up the boost and throw in some C16 to prevent detonation
when you have the money to throw or a new daily driver but as they say you gotta pay to play
that's why i don't play, I is broke

Remember, this isn't some import tuner we're talking about. This is a car with a sticker of $130,000. Its the epitomy of luxury coupes. Its also his daily driver. You don't want to mess around too much with this car.

I think its already fast enough, but maybe a few more minor tweeks just to get it down into the 10's wouldn't hurt

The boost has been raised to a level that is obviously adequate enough to produce some pretty impressive numbers. As well why would you recommend run C16, ummm thats a leaded gas. I use Torco 104 or Sunoco 100 race fuel and I have and ECU to keep my timing in check. Im not sure what the money comment meant, but I am familiar with paying to play as I have been drag racing for a bit

Italian Stallion, 10's are in the future for sure, and yes with "minor" mods

There are some misinformed people on this forum.

Reaction time has NO effect on ET.

C16 will toast your cats and O2 sensors. You have to run unleaded fuel on these cars.
Also, C16 wont effect your tranny at all.

Jason- Your 10s time slip is coming in the near future. I can feel it. I wanna be there when it happens too! Its so amazing how such a heavy car can run these times. Especially with how smooth the car feels. COngrats on an amazing time.

Jason, congrats from one old timer (memberwise) to another. Its funny how we were both driving 210's back in the winter of 2001 and now we both got 215's ... I have a strong feeling yours is faster than mine.

You have arguably the fastest CL out there IMO. I will get mine dyno'd next week so we can see where my powerband stands.

I was meant just to put race gas sunoco has a 110 that's unleaded and I said the money thing because you would need lots of money to be able to throw away just incase you break the tranny, axles, etc. but you would also need like a daily
but whatever
