CL55 value help

Hello,

I'm looking at an 06 CL55 at a dealer in LA, and I'm having trouble determining what it's really worth. I'm fairly certain they are asking way too much at $90k. The Kelley Blue Book site has been giving an error message for several days when I try to get the value from them (it errors out after selecting the vehicle's condition), so I am hoping someone here will be able to offer some insight or have access to Manheim info could help me out.

2006 CL55 AMG
12000 miles
Keyless Go, Parktronic and trunk closer options

Thanks for any help.

try edmunds.com

Have you considered a 65. It will blow your socks off.

The value of CL's has been dropping so fast, it's probably crashing KBB's system.

You're better off looking for a CL65

2006 CL55
07/12/07 MANHEIM Regular $65,750 9,682 Avg HORIZON 8G A Yes
06/21/07 RIVRSIDE Factory $81,250 2,642 Above FLT GRY 8G A Yes
06/20/07 W PALM Regular $71,400 16,317 Avg GRAY 8G A Yes
05/10/07 RIVRSIDE Factory $83,750 2,204 Above FLT GRY 8G A Yes
05/10/07 RIVRSIDE Regular $65,000 33,744 Avg BLK OPL 8G A No
03/28/07 ST LOUIS Lease $74,000 680 Avg BRI SIL 8G A Yes

2005 CL65
04/12/07 RIVRSIDE Regular $79,500 32,016 Avg BLACK 12G A Yes
04/26/07 RIVRSIDE Regular $74,000 48,782 Avg SILVER 12G A No
06/06/07 W PALM Lease $55,000 64,206 Below BRI SIL 12G A No
06/12/07 DFW Regular $80,750 13,203 Avg PEWTR 12G A Yes
07/19/07 RIVRSIDE Lease $80,000 24,267 Avg BLACK 12G O Yes
07/25/07 ATLANTA Regular $75,000 33,854 Avg BLACK 12G A Yes

They will both depreciate, but at the end of the day, the CL65 is more niche and will have a higher selling price when it all bottoms out.

Thanks for the help. I really like the 65, but I'm concerned about the reliability and upkeep of the V12 after warranty vs. the V8. That's the only reason I was going to go with a 55 instead.

Go for 65. The upkeep and realiability is fairly the same, but the 65 will keep it's value higher longer.

I offered the dealer $60k for this car back in the beginning of August and they turned me down. Now I see that Straight Line has the car on ebay with a minimum bid of $65k.

What happened? Do you think the dealer just forgot about my offer or was there some benefit to selling it to Straight Line instead?

Here's the car:

I would bet that Straight Line paid 65 for the car.

You can negotiate with them, but don't expect more than 2k off unless the car has been there for a while.
