New to form, Looking at CL65
Hello,
I have been looking on this form for some time and finally decided to stop being lazy and join! Right now I have a 03 TT X50 04 S55, 03 SL55 and today test drove a 05 CL65 with 6,000 miles on it. The car is a one owner bought locally and recently traded in on a cl63. My questions are is it normal for the car to backfire? This happened right after letting off the accelerator on a hard run. Also when leaning into the throttle the engine would make what sounded like turbo flutter, is this normal? Over all I loved the car just worried about these noises. Also the power felt inconsistent and after reading some posts it sounds like the IC pump could be bad. Any thoughts on what would make the car act like this? Thanks

I have worked on a number of 65s and if they are running correctly they shouldn't backfire. Make sure that you have it gone through.
Also, try driving others and see if they do the same thing.

Similar question....
I'm wondering if I should trade my '04 CL55 for a CL65, found one for 92K '05 5K miles, anybody have an opinion ? I sure like the 55's high rev... but I haven't heard about as many problems with the 65's as I have the 55's
Thanks, Keith

Take the offer. Hard to find one with such low mileage. Make sure it is CPO so you can get the extended warranty.
Maybe you can hagel the price down about 2K or so. I have yet to see low mileage at this price from a dealer. Be sure to do your homework. Absolutely no body work or flood car from the Hurricanes.
