Lo-jack

Hi, everyone:

Does anyone know the common locations in which Lo-Jack transmitters are hidden? I'm just curious.

Lo-Jack...isn't that stuff from era of typewriters, white-out, rotary-dial telephones, etc???

Haven't heard of anyone in urban CA/NYC regions ever having new, $100K+ car stolen in at least past 10yrs++ (excluding guys visiting "ungentrified" parts of said urban regions for various nefarious purposes).....

And, in rare event any car is stolen, would rather have thieves destroy car/ship it wherever, etc than for car to be recovered; "refurbished"; and returned to me......have never owned any car (buying cars is about as archaic as Lo-Jack); have always $0-down leased; and lease-gap insurance cvg makes total loss in any collision/theft the economically optimal/most hassle-free outcome for insured.....need a new car every 6-12mos anyway....

Wow!
That was harsh.
But I can't find anything wrong in what WSH said.
Forget LoJack.
I'd love someone to purloin my CL55 - I might be driving a 63 like you Doc!

It's worthless on an MB equip with Nav. MB can locate stolen cars via the Nav/GPS when requested by Police.

BTW, I got lojack with early warning on my cls55 because my dealer was too lazy to remove it after I told him I did not want it. A $1500 gift.

It was just out of curiosity that I asked about the hiding locations. I know it has Nav tracking, but these things can be defeated. I don't leave the car unattended and at work all the security guards know me, so they keep an out for wrongdoers, especially those who like to park in the doctors' spots with their pickups. I think it's pretty secure. We'll see if I change my mind in the future.

On mine its on the underside of the glove box.

Easy way the bad guys defeat the gps technology is to get it inside of an underground parking garage or steel storage container asap. The gps can't receive its signal.

I hope none of these guys are reading this post....
