Since this is one of the few sites that has patron's with the wealth needed to benefit from these things and since there are a number of CL owners who considered becoming Bentley owners, here is an upcoming auction on a late model Bentley. This is a government seizures site and you can often find some great bargains other times, people bid things up beyond even retail. Not certain which way this one will go but it may well be a way to buy a Bentley GT cheap. Starting bid is $66K but bid increments are around $3,300 so it may get pricey quick. If anyone here does end up buying it, the cost of my notification service is simply a ride or two!

Still surprised none of the "high rollers" on here have even been tempted by this opportunity. Too much of a hassle?

...seems too good to be true...if it's clean and the reserve will be around 90k or it's not clean and will see for less.

I think the risk is higher here than in buying one off an internet site based on pictures.Originally Posted by ndabunka

This is a government auction, right? Do you trust them to tell the truth?
There's probably some fine print that says the car is perfect, (except for the armor piercing round lodged in the #7 cylinder wall and the blood in the carpeting) please step right up for a great deal.
This one I'd have to see in person.

I am pretty certain it's clean as far as carfax goes. if it wasn't that site would post it. I didn't run the VIN past a Bentley dealer as it's out of my price range. I saw an Maz coupe sell on there a while back and it went to nearly retail so it may not be a bargain in the end anyway. I'll be watching "just for the fun of it" but wouldl like to see someone "steal it" for around the $81K or $82K mark.Originally Posted by blazinginder

Bidding has begun and there were no bids for the first 2 hours or so and the current bid on this car is the minimum $66K. I certainly hope SOMEONE steps up and buys this thing if it stays this low.
Looks like this one is going to go retail. It's up to just under $100K now. So much for a bargain...

If this one keeps going the way it is you might want to list yours there as well. They will take private and reserve auctions at that site. It's not JUST a US Marshalls confiscation site. Keep an eye out and if you make a few pennies, send me a drink or two via PM!Originally Posted by Barolo CLS

Well, the 2004 Bentley went for $101,620 + any additional buyers premiums that may be associated with it (3% I think) so around $105K. Not bad but also not cheap. Looks like the general public bid it up there. This was for a low mileage car but a LOT of paperwork to get done related to such a sale. It doesn't seem like it would have been worth it to me. The guy above's $115K asking would probably be a better use of time and resources

Fun to watch but not a bargain.
