Brakes on 4 wheels will be 1,200 to 1,800.
Make sure you can get a warranty on the car. Plenty of after market warranty info on this forum.
If not, buy a different car.
I came to the CL55 form a 996TT. It would be impossible to go back to anything less than a 997TT.

The CL55 torque is addicting. I don't drive twisty roads so the MB is perfect.

Maintenance wise the AMG car will probably be pretty cheap. I am not sure how the previous post got brakes for $1800. On my SL55 the rotors are about $100 each and pads are around the same, so if you are getting charged more than a couple of hundred for labor, you are being overcharged.

Scheduled services will be cheaper on the AMG, but I would imagine when some of the electronic parts start going bad, the costs will be high.

Call the dealer and ask for a brake job ... I bet my numbers are right. The front rotors are 450@ the pads are 310 front (rear?) and labor ... at least 3 hours on the book at $100+ per hour.

What rotors are you getting at $100? I need a set next week.

So true....

Had 996TTS and 997TT....great steering and brakes (PCCB) for mtn twisties....but are far less dynamically enjoyable than any AMG CL in straight-line.....(and, stunningly, IMO CL63 ABC is better damped vs bumpy mtn twisties stability vs 997TT's poorly sorted PASM)

997TT turbo lag makes tq delivery nonlinear/non-confidence inspiring; exhaust note music of AMG CL's is some of most enjoyable on planet (often drive w/no stereo on to fully appreciate that addictive exhaust note).....

And straight-line high-speed stability of CL63 is far superior to that of 997TT on real-world US fwys.....
