New CL65 Auction prices...
Well here are the new auction prices for the CL's...many have been inquiring about the new prices. I receive these from a friend and he finally got back to me. Again, I know how some may get their panties tied up, this is just to be used as a point of reference...

If you see the one for 44K miles, it sold for 51K, that is the one listed in florida under ebay, they are selling it for 59K, I called the dealer yesterday making them an offer for 54K and told the guy how much they bought it for, he got pissed and asked me how the hell I found out what they paid for it...I told him I have my secrets, he did not want to talk to me after that.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)

Sure will....they might drop more than this....I see the higher the mileage the less they go for. Figure warranty plays a big role.

Wow. With these prices, im really interested buying either an cl65 or an sl65. For some reason, i prefer the sl65, but i know that the prices havent dropped this far. Do you have a list of what sl65's are going for now? Please let me know if you can. Thanks.

Nice......One question, if i buy a CL straight out of the auction with factory warranty still in effect, will mercedes offer me an extension if I decide to purchase it from them? I am wondering if I should go straight to the auction myself and skip the dealer as the middle man. They will make it CPO but for a big fee, it's 4K for all services or what ever it might need and then $2800 more for the extra year thats nearly 8K on their side. Don't know if it is worth it, buying it from them..thanks.
Warranty stays with the vehicle no matter where you got it from.
You can purchase extended from MBZ. If you're out of warranty they will charge you for an inspection of the vehicle. This is done to make sure it is in tip top condition and there are no pre existing problems.
Remember MBZ CPO is new tires, breaks, etc... that's big money. Also those auction prices don't include, Auciton Fees, Transport Fees, Buyer Fees etc... and you're buying a car that you can not return if you find out later on it has major issues, or it has had its warranty voided for some reason. We've had cars bought that a week or so later have the carfax come back dirty, but the week before when we were buying it, it was clean etc....
You can go to the auction way early before the bidding opens and inspect the car, start it etc... I definately recomend this, also you can pay just under 100 for an inspection at the auction after you've bought it, if it doesn't pass you can refuse it.
Just a heads up not trying to be a smart ***.

This looks like a good deal. Claims a $20K discount.

If you do go to the auction like I said, pay the extra $75 and have them inspect it which gives you the right to refuse the car if they find stuff wrong with it. Also go way early, run the vin on carfax, call the MBZ dealer and ask if the warranty is still valid on that vin # etc... (do your homework on the car you're purchasing)

Not saying that, but giving you a heads up that sometimes paying a couple thousand more and having a piece of mind is worth it.

Will look this up tuesday for you. I have a little list of request for my buddy, hopefully he will comply. Thinking of letting go of your beast for a 65?. Your car is a beast.

As a wise man once said..."there is no substitue for cubic inches" and Roger Ver ran 11.06@128 with only a Renntech ECU/TCU mod which betters my no NOS time by .2/6mph. The 6mph leads me to believe that he has at least 60-80 more hp without the aid of NOS. So, of course I am always looking and the S65 cars prices are falling into my price range. It is amazing the depreciation of these 65 series cars. However, I love my car color combination of Designo silver/stone and it is soooo smooth. This would be easy for me to forget if an S65 was priced right in excellent condition...

We all know that old CL65 prices are in the gutter. What I'm interested is new body CL65 prices. On ebay, the prices are still very high... in the 180k+ range. Do you think they will tank as bad as old CL65's in the next year or two? I'd personally love to pick up the new CL65 for low 100's

CL63 030 Blk/Blk
Car dealers all suck!
The game remains the same. When a change in a model is about to come out, the old style is always sold at a premium along with the new style, because “this is the last of the truly great model and is worth something extra”. Soon after new model introduction the old model value tanks. I think that the new CL will retain very good value as they have been well received. The same is probably true for 63’s and 65’s but MB may be making too many copies and if production is not adjusted it may result is some bargains. A bad economy would also help.
It was even worse in the ‘80’s, when a new Ferrari came out all bets were off! Today it’s a little different, even the 997tt at introduction was not sold at a premium.

Anyone even somewhat tech-savvy prob realizes cars are increasingly like smartphones or any other consumer tech device....who wants to use (or buy) a >2yo smartphone, no matter how great it was at launch???
Side effects of rapid tech innovation....rapid obsolescence; no pricing power on new stuff; minimal value of used/obsolete stuff.....
Despite deprec costs, suspect today's new 65s only cost as much as new 500s costed in early '90s.....adjust for inflation, interest rates/lease terms, today's markedly greater perf/safety....
![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Recall the ?$1K (at mkt) MotoStarTac cell phone of '97.....would extrapolate the same valuation patterns to any latest-tech car that people lease to drive/enjoy today while car still relevant, not for nostalgic collecting...which elderly, near-death folks may enjoy.....
