Calling the doc, here are the symptoms....
I am having difficulty with my 03 CL55. It seems as though when I accelerate hard over rolling terrain, small hills, dips in the road, ect. the car will crash down hard and make a sound like the mufflers are rubbing the road in the rear. Especially on the driver's side. I took the car in for service and told them I was bottoming out on hard acceleration and that it would be evident by looking at the exhaust mufflers underside as I was sure they were scraped to ****. As it turns out, they brought me to the service bay to look at the car on the lift and no scratches anywhere under the car. I couldn't believe it. I've heard this awful metal scraping metal sound maybe forty times. Can anybody take a guess as to what would be scraping in a scenario such as the one I'm describing? I also checked the control arms and no damage. is there something metal the shocks could rub? something on the opposite side of the plastic in the wheel wells? Any help would be appreciated!
