Hello all, aside from the common electronic gremlins on the w215, how are the 55k motors and transmissions holding up as mileage goes higher? 40k+

Depends on the previous owner; if he drives hard and never had the car serviced then most likely the car will have more than just electronic gremlins.

I'm at 69,000 miles, the engine itself is solid. I've had 5 tranny fluid changes ... I recommend that others change their fluid often too make sure there aren't any issues.

I would say my transmission is in good shape, but as the miles go up (50K miles plus), I definitely view the transmission as the week link. There is no truth to the nonsense of "lifetime tranny fluid". Unless one views lifetime as being defined as when the transmission fails.

Why at 12K mi I asked my MB Dealer to change the Tranny Fluid, he said, "I'm crazy--it's a sealed transmission". Of course, I disagreed. How much did you pay for your fluid change. Was it a flush, change and/or did it include the filter?
