Quote: I knew about all of these, Marko, could you get a link to a site where that CL63 is posted? If not, at least maybe some info if possible. thanx.
It's not posted anywhere, it's a good friend of mine. PM me your contact info and I can forward it to him as he isn't a member of this board. Is there any specific information you'd like about the car? VIN?

Thanks a lot. I guess I was just interested in seeing what he wants for it, I know my dad's possibly gettin rid of his car in the next month, so when you mentioned around mid 30s, I thought that sounded like a steal for a rare machine like this. I know he might be very interested. Been trying to get him into a Benz for a while now, this might be it, lol. Check your PMs, Im gonna send you my email.

I have heard conflicting stories regarding how a few of these got over here. Some places say that Brabus made identical replicas and sold them here, others say that Brabus just imported them. Does anybody know the real deal, or where to find more info?

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_CL-Class

Quote:
The CL63 AMG is the rarest W215 CL of all. It was produced only in November 2001, and just 26 examples were ever built for sale. The V12-powered CL63 AMG was only sold in Europe and Asia. Mercedes-Benz never offered the W215 CL63 for sale; all were sold exclusively through AMG with a base price of £110,000 (~US$200,000).
So I guess the ones you have over there are private imports.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. I thought more people knew about the 63s and 73s. But, of course you've heard of the SL60 AMG, right?

Around 1998, 1999.

Ab 1993 bot Mercedes-AMG den SL 60 AMG mit auf sechs Liter aufgebortem V8 an. Er wurde 1998 vom nur kurz gebauten und fast 500 PS starken SL 70 AMG mit 7,0 Liter-V12 abgelöst,...

I talked to a Tech and buying a 63 would end problematic, due to the lack of finding a warranty that would cover the thing. Its hard enough finding an Aftermarket warranty to cover any other AMG yet alone that one?

no?

I was wondering the exact same thing. Can you imagine the look on a tech's face when you tell him you have a 2001 CL63? And furthermore when you tell him its one of 26 in the world, and likely the only one in the US. Of course, he would get his satisfaction looking at your jaw hit the floor when he quotes the prices for the almost one of a kind parts for the engine. Still, it would be all worth it. This would be an awesome car to own. Def. gonna look into it some more.

I have it already, only no time for more pictures It drives very smooth, since ESP/BAS don't work, it is hard to keep tires alive on low rpm when starting I hope I have some time soon to post some Car is in good condition with only 42000km, some minor issues like this BAS/ESP, small oil leak and that's it Interesting is, that mercedes doesn't know about this model really, from VIN i seems like CL600, so it had to be so, that it left facotry this way and was later rebuild by AMG. But facts are hard to dispute, car is complete CL63AMG
