nothing wrong with car....dead market!!

Our cars are incredible feats in engineering.... with performance and comfort and so on.... but not too any people need all that .... the CL55'S are selling cheaper by $20k and are just fine on perfomance... the CL65'S just have a price point that many other cars fall in AND in a few cases they are selling a lot less then some of these C65'S are advertised....S550'S ...CL550'S CLS55'S
CLS63'S E63'S M5'S M6'S and Maserati's....and these cars are newer body styles and more trendy.....

most recent CL65'S ...
26k car went for $56k...keyless and very clean
15k car with keyless $66k....almost bought it...but more then i wanted to spend....i am looking for second CL
54k mile car $49k
oh and a 19k mile flint grey car...$60k

they will continue to drop.....and most 05's are going to be out of warranty soon.....CL63'S will be under $100k in a few months guaranteed ...CL600'S
2007'S are now under $100k and so are the s600's...

Considering the new CTS-V with 580hp and the new GTR coming out... both of those cars will be priced in the low $70's .... making the CL65 look dated by most count and not too much for value anymore.....

If I could find a CL65 at the prices you indicate. I would buy the car TODAY.. Money wired, TODAY, done.... Where are these deals??

not interested in lemon law, salvage title, accident car.. I NEED a clean, no stories unit. With under 30k miles/ Prefer White or Silver, would take a black car for the right number $$.

warranty, nobody wants to buy these with a year or less on the warranty..... I'm in the market for one as well.... I'm willing to pay more to get one at a dealer and add some MB warranty to it, but not what the dealers are trying to get for them......

All dealers are total ***holes from my dealings with them. I have yet to find one sales manager that gives you the benefit of the doubt that you know what you are talking about when it comes to used cars and wholesale prices. They look at you like you are unreasonable or crazy when you make a reasonable offer based on what the car is really worth. I had a hell of a time getting my car for the price that I did at the time. I was on e-bay, cars.com, and autotrader every day plus I had a friend check the auctions every week. These cars may have tanked in value but they are still a rare car. Not many were made and to find one in good condition is not easy. I went through 4 cars before I found the one I bought. I got lucky because the in service date on my car was Feb. 2006 even though it is an 05 model. It must have sat for a year at the dealer. I have warranty till Feb. 2010. Good luck with the search.

agreed, they told me they paid 82k for a cl65, and that's why they need 89k..... we know they probably wouldn't pay over 60k for one.... I guess they have time to wait for the sorry guy who comes in and gets ripped.. I need the 100k miles on the warranty since I put on 15k per year....

Trust me...If I have to wait all summer, I will wait...not getting burned this time around.

The one (2005) at Encino Sold. Some lucky buyer bought it. According to Juicee it is a super clean car. They dropped it to 71k, I guess that was a good price.

I got nothing but time....

Definitely get a CPO'd car. I'll bet you will be able to pick up an 06 CPO'd car with a little luck. I would look for an 06 at this point anyway. If I'm not mistaken the 06 comes with the Sirius tuner standard so you can get satellite radio immediately and without having to pay $900 to get the module installed. I think the CL65 is he right car for you since you put on a lot of miles. It is so comfortable and roomy compared to your E. You will really like it. I'm keeping an eye out for a good one for both you and Jody but I have not seen any good deals. Straight Line in Texas always has a ton of AMG's but they are overpriced and none are CPO'd because they are not a Mercedes Dealership. They do however get a lot of nice CL and SL AMG's from their local Mercedes dealership off lease and resell them. Good Luck with the search.

I agree with your statements... Warranty on these cars is HUGE... But 89k?? right!!

No way a dealer paid in the 80's for a CL65 anytime in the last 6 months.. When appraising trades. These guys simply go to their computer, and look at auction results, and add deduction in for an additionla 30-60 days depreciation (lot time). Take all the Kelly blue books,NADA books, etc and throw them out. They mean ZERO... Galves is the only "true" wholesale book. And even that isnt completely accurate. Infact, Galves is usually TOO low.

My dealer told me "thats the longest period of time, we want to own this car for"(60 days). If its not sold, it goes to manheim.. So our trade-in appraisal is based on that scenario..

someone would probably be offered high $50's-low $60's for a CLEAN under 30k miles, CL65 right now. Assuming no paintwork, and clear title..

The MB dealer near me, goes over the entire car with a paintmeter, before they give a number on the trade.. The guy told me, on a car like a CL65, he will deduct 10% for something as minor as a fender repaint. Even if it was a key-scratch or something minor.

Delaers are in to make as much money as they can... When you are "buying" your car.. what they have is "gold" and can not be duplicated on Ebay,autotrader,etc.. When you are trading in your car in. What "you" have can be bought at auction for ridiculous pricing.. Its a joke..

All very true. Can't believe they expected you to believe that they paid over 80k for that thing. Sorry, just no way thats true. Do any of you have any thoughts on where these will be in 12-18 months? thanks

From a selfish point of view I hope you are wrong. I paid $85K for mine about 8 months ago. I knew it wasn't the best deal but at the time it was about 5K more then auction prices and it was in great condition with about 16K miles. These cars were so rare to find I had to jump on a good one when I saw it. My only regret is how hard they have fallen since then. I still get a big smile driving the car and I get a lot of compliments around town but it hurts to know it has depreciated 25K in that time span. I am going to upgrade the ECU with Powerchip shortly. I'll let you guys know the results. I'm also thinking about removing the command and putting in a touch screen navi with all the bells and whistles including a new amplifier for louder music.

you have the right idea, AND look at the bright side.. You werent the one that paid $180+k for it You enjoy the car, thats all that counts.. The CL65 is an amazing machine.. I have to believe they will get to a point, where depreciation will slow down GREATLY.. Even at todays pricing. Im very interested in picking one up.. I do like having 4 doors in my E55 though..

That's about what I was thinking. It does seem that the S65s dropped quicker initially, but have already slowed down. I remember seeing them for sale 2 years ago for 80 something And brand new too! The CL is definatley one of the most beautiful cars ever made, though.
