putting the transmission in sport D and putting it in sport 1 ?

does the car shift by itself in both settings?

does S 1 take every gear to redline?

Mine is the '04 CL, but the most obvious difference between Sport D and Comfort D is that Comfort simply starts the car off in 2nd gear, and from then on shifts at lower RPMs. The car has so much torque that 2nd gear just smoothes things out a bit for starting. Manual 1 holds the car in first gear, not sure if you can bounce on the rev limiter though. Likewise, manual 2 holds the car in 2nd gear, and you can even start in manual 2 if you want to. Day to Day, I just leave it in sport mode.

In sport D the car will shift through all gears on its own. In sport 1 it will bounce off of the rev limiter and shift on its own to sport 2 and so on. In M you have to shift the car using the paddles or buttons. M does shift faster but you have to be carefull to not hit the rev limiter or the engine will cut out. This takes some practice since you have to shift before the redline.
