CL55 initial impressons

2003 CL55 AMG
CL55 initial impressons
Picked up the 2003 CL55 today. Wow... Quite a bit different than my 2001. I wasn't aware how many small changes they made throughout the vehicle. It was raining so I didn't get a chance to feel any raw power, however, I did open it up for a seco n the free way and almost wet myself when I heard the exhaust. Sounds very nice.
The 5 spoke rims are a lot better looking in person that in pictures, however, I think I will still opt for the double spokes when they become available.
The brakes are awesome. The look as well as the functionality.
The thicker AMG steering wheel is very nice. I think I may miss the wood from my 2001 wheel, but the thickness of the new AMG leather wheel feels so good.
The transmission indeed is faster in shifting gears. The button shifters on the back of the steering wheel are weel placed and feel good. Jury is still out on if they are effective. Time will tell.
The updated COMAND system has some nice features that the COMAND 2.5 didn't. Overall its about the same however has many small changes espically in the Navagation. The wider screen is a welcome treat.
The interior is great. Seats are awesome.
The 2003 rides so much different that the 2001. Much tighter and sportier. I hope tomorrow it dires out here and I can wash the car and remove the V8 Kompressor emblems for a cleaner look.

Congrats Adam! Can't wait for the pics! Was going to Zaino my car today but i believe it's going to rain either tomorrow monday or tuesday. I'll wait til wednesday and hopefully the weather will turnout nice.
