S55 or CL55?
Hi guys,
I had a deposit on an SL500, but decided not to buy after I test drove one. Wasnt all that impressed with the ride or power. Now Im considering an S55 or CL55, but dont know alot about the cars, except from what Ive read. The S55 seems to be the better of the two, but I need some input here. Are either of the cars practical daily usage cars? My daily driver is an LS430, which is hard to beat, plus it has DVD nav, Mark Levinson stereo, etc., but would like a bit more in the horsepower department..Any thoughts??

For $40000 less I would recommend the upcoming E55 which has the same engine as the CL55 and S55 but due to lower weight will be noticeably faster. If you need a bigger car, the S55 is an excellent ride, but seems very overpriced compared to the E55 which should sticker for under $80000.

Big difference between the S55 and CL55 . One (S55) is a 4 door saloon and the other (CL55) is a 2 door coupe.
The E55 is a good choice as well, although even though it has the same engine as teh S55 and CL55, it's detuned to 469 hp. I found out today that the difference seems to be in the amount of pressue created by the supercharge. The S55 and CL55 run 0.9 bar whereas the E55 seems to run a little lower pressure.
