Anyone boosted their stereos?

I'm very unimpressed with the Harmon/Kardon Logic7 system. Has anyone upgraded their components in a W216? If so, what have you done? I'm looking for the usual - cleaner, punchier, slightly louder, cleaner. I'm not trying to win any competitions here and I don't want to put in a monster system that's going to be 20% of the value of the car. Just something to clean up the muck at a reasonable price.

I guess sound is all about perception.. I am not a big sound person but have a 200 amp Blaupunkt added on the stock system and larger sub.. IMO,, very nice..

Yeah, know what you mean. My E320 has a better system than the CL500. I think it only has 8, while my E has 12 or something. The CL500, the W215s, were Bose too.

here is my system. The armrest area is a nice place to add another speaker or sub. I know my trunk is more that you would want to do but I just wanted to share the pics.

I've got the Harmon/Kardon Logic7 in my car also. The overall sound is great, but lacking bass. I put in a 10" WO6 and a JL amp and its made a huge difference in the overall sound. I went with the 10" WO6 because it was small enough that it wouldn't take up a whole lot of room in my trunk, but the W06 can pack a serious punch.

I agree, JL's are great.

My god, you went crazy

I've gotten a quote for Hertz Mille speakers, audiocontrol dq-8, arc mini 500w x2 amps, hertz sub...

I don't know how anyone can listen to the stock system - it is absolutely horrendous, and even worse when the windows are down - the CL is as windy as a convertible when all 4 are down.

I'm going to try living with it for a few weeks (and through this market)...we'll see.
