3rd time is a charm??

Hi everyone! I'm an ex 2003 CL500 and CL600 owner. I miss the CL and have been watching the prices of 2005 CL55's. I'm starting to see some in the high $30k range for those with about 40k miles. I'm stuck in a lease on my Infiniti for another year, so by then, I'm guessing the 2005 CL55's should be quite reasonable (except for the maintenance costs of course).

Did the 2005's get better in terms of reliablility vs the 03's? I had alot of the ABC suspension headaches with my previous cars.

Why the 55? Well, the 500 was a bit slow for me, the 600 felt heavy and too quiet...I'm thinking the 55 should be a perfect fit! I thought about the 65, but mine will be a daily driver and I think it would be too expensive for me.

Opinions welcome!

I seriously think you should go for the 2005 CL65. I used to own a 2005 CL65 but i upgraded to the 2007 S65 and I'm going to get the facelift S65 when it comes out, if things go well. The engines are built like tanks. The CL65 never had any techincal problems and the prices on them are dropping fast.

I found a few CL65's for you:

This first one comes with a 100K warranty, to keep you cover covered from the ABC problems.

I really like my 55 but I say go for the CL65! You can always add a little more noise.. Easy to add power as well. Second, the depreciation is a lot better on the 65.. 180 grand car for 50 with low miles is a steal!!

Thanks for the responses and links! I will probably test drive a few 65's. I still have a year to go before I can buy, but I'm already excited!

The reason I focused on the 55 is money is tight now! I'm disabled from a failed back surgery so I don't make what I used to.

I'm thinking it would be cheaper to maintain, fuel, and insure the V8 over the V12. I'm just wondering if the CL55 is reliable long-term as a daily driver once a warranty expires (about 50 miles per day)? I'm hoping the 05 models have some of the kinks worked out that plagued my 03 CL's?
