wheelbearings? you realize that if you have enough play in the wheelbearings to shake the tires/car the bearing noise will be very obvious...

my vote goes to poorly balanced rear tires. find somebody with a hunter dsp roadforce balancer and redo the balance. it is possible you also have a bent rim which might allow the tire to be properly balanced on a normal (non roadforce) balancer and yet shake once rolling on the road under load.

if not the tires, your driveshaft my be out of balance. it will announce itself as intermittent vibration at low-speed shifts... very common on the cl and s series.

good luck

If it's really an obvious up-and-down motion it sounds more like a suspension problem. The ABC lowers the car 35 mm at that speed. Perhaps there's a problem with that system. If you're sure the vibration is mostly vertical have the dealer check the ABC.

+1....I had a faulty ABC sensor in my rear strut that was giving my car an unstable feeling at high speeds. I had the MB master tech also do an alignment too. No problems after that.

Did they have to change the strut out for the sensor failure?
