HELP with erratic high idle
My CL55 was just returned from service to replace a spark coil and numerous spark plug wires and when I got it back the engine idle was acting all weird. When I turned on the car it would rev up to 1500-2000 rpm range and stay oscillate around there for a few mins. The car shifts into gear and drives somewhat normally, except the idle speed is very high due to the high idle rpm. Has anyone else experienced a problem like this? I brought it back to MB service and they are saying that my water pump is locking up. Could a water pump lock-up cause this type of problem? I am in great need of help as MB is saying that this problem is unrelated to the spark coil and wires they fixed yesterday and are trying to charge me my warranty deductible AGAIN...
