Blacked Out Chrome

I want to have the chrome blacked out on my black CL55. The only credible source I have found for this is Brabus in Los Angeles. They want two weeks and $2,500 to do the job. They take the chrome off, send it out to have it anodized, and then re-install it.

Has anyone else had this done anywhere? Here are some pics from Brabus showing what it looks like.

That look would be killer. If you got the cash, why not.

I would ask BrabusCclass about it. He had his grill painted black and i am sure it didnt cost $2,500.

The cost is because they are anodizing it. I guess iit could be a "better" way to do it, however, I would go to a body shop instead. A good body shop will sand down the chrome, paint it with the correct color, and then clear coat it. It will look just as good.

Someone did that to their coupe, but they painted it, and it looks the same as the top picture.
