Steering noise...
Just want to see if anyone came across this before i take it to a dealer under warranty. So the issue is some faint noise that sounds like a whirl of an electric motor when I turn the steering wheel say +90 or -90 (or more) degrees from its equilibrium position. I also think the rate of rotation may influence the amplitude of the noise. The faster I turn the wheel the louder the noise - proportional relationship. It seems to originate from the steering wheel column and not the engine bay. Though that is difficult to confirm by naked ear. At times after driving for a few hours the noise will disappear altogether.
I did some spirited driving (twisties) after which i started noticing this abnormality. The car is an '03 CL55 with a little over 60K miles.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

some steering pumps are noisier than others. its either ok or on its way out. noise in those is usually not a prequel to failure... (but in a fuel pump it usually is)

I get that same sound after droppin the hammer usually when the car has not warmed up all the way, but it goes away, I need to take it in to check the fluid levels and the pump just to be sure, mine is a 03 CL55 as well.
