Thumbs down Enclosed Transport Company (Bad service from Thomas Sunday Transport)

My car was picked up June 24th by Thomas C Sunday Car Transport Company. The normal industry standard for such a trip (700 miles) is 4 days. The car has yet to be delivered. I sent a professionally worded email to the company (The same email I used to communicate an estimate the week before. The email was not inflammatory, just listed the facts and asked for a manager to respond) but no response. I called 4 times in one day only to be told we will call you back. I am sure my car will be eventually delivered (Not too worried, I am insured) but the point is that almost 20 days has past.
Mistakes happen but NOT communicating with the customer especially to resolve a problem is just bad business. Whats funny is that I read about transport companies doing what they want after you sign on the dotted line but I assumed this company is "cool" since they transport high end vehicles only.

My preference was the two companies recommended by Barrett Jackson Auctions but at the time, pick up was not available for my area.

Damn that really sucks, I really hope it works out for you. You say it's been almost 20 days? That's pretty amazing, can't believe that they haven't made any effort to explain this unacceptable situation to you. Good luck and keep us posted. Looks like an amazing car you have there. Hope it turns out ok.

Have you thought about the possibility that the shipper might have damaged your car? The delay might be caused by the time required to have the repairs completed. Be sure to thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any signs of damage/repair upon arrival.

Thanx for the support guys.

Yes... "that thought" has crossed my mind and quickly ejected. Nothing I can do at this point. Just want that car delivered so that "the project" can begin, since estimated time will be 2-3 months to finish it. Just in time for the Texas Mile

i wouldnt consider Barrett Jackson a reputable source.....they artifically inflate auctions. That being said, 20 days is unacceptable, and not answering a phone call is very fishy. Id be less than professional at this point. I hope you paid with credit card cuz maybe you can dispute some of the charges and get money back, and stick it to them.

I just received my car and the truck came from california. Took 6 days and was 1 day early. They sometimes wait around an area(east vs west coast) in hopes of other cars needing delivery so they can maximize the trip.

I can recommend Newmann International without hesitation.

sry bout your situation

Do you still not have your car yet?
I would report this to the police... I mean 20 days and no car still without an explanation

Car finally arrived (Jun 24th – Jul 14) AND I found out (from the driver not the company) it was transferred from one truck to another. NO calls NO apologies. As I said earlier, even if you had a good experience with Sunday transport, it does not mean they are a reputable company. If they screwed everyone, they would not be in business. They only screw some of their customers.
My only goal here is to let you know about my experience. Draw your own conclusion.

I am glad you got your car and hopefully it arrived in good shape. I think what happened is down to a bad employee, rather than an inditement of the company. They have been shipping for me for years, with no issues and good communication.

LOL 20 days and the car doesn't even have to go overseas or a border...My friend used the transporter off 6speedonline for his P car, from Cali to Montreal Port (Canada) with brokerage/customs cleared the car still made it in 8 days (sunday pickup - monday arrival)...

Did you check out the car and paint work to make sure nothing happened?

That post is from July 09. I purchased an enclosed transporter and no longer need to rely on a transport company.

I can top that!

Over 30 days from Chicago IL to Seattle WA, they told me 7-10 days

I paid for an enclosed transport from door to door what I got was a ride on the back of a fright train and I have to drive 40 mile to pick it up

I don't recommend D.A.S (Dependable Auto Shipper)
