2010 CL65
ieb, good to see you're still enjoying your CL63 030...one of the world's greatest cars IMO
Will confess I often park my 65 in my local "park" (the Stanford campus) after a mtn twisties run to admire the lines of this magnificent car in the CA sunlight (hell, I still prob spend 5-10 mins every eve admiring the car's styling nuances despite having driven latest-gen AMG CLs for some 2 yrs)....but my car is usually splattered w/road grime and brake dust (the CA post-spirited drive version of your Bos winter pics of a salt-covered CL)
Have you seen videos of CL63/65 that AMG has produced (on youtube and on AMG PL)?
Unfortunately, as an owner/driver, one rarely appreciates how impressive CL63/65 sound or look in motion (esp wheels in motion vs brake calipers) to an outside observor....CL63/65 have an imperial visual/aural presence on road at speed....and stuff like the lit-up advanced headlights only hint at the tech wizardry of these AMG CLs

WSH, Thanks. It’s good to see that at least one person has a sense of humor. I was trying in my own way to show the beautifulness of the car. Every time I think of next car being maybe a Ferrari or something like that I say to myself, you are totally stupid, you already have the best. Agree with your statement – “CL63/65 have an imperial visual/aural presence on road at speed....”, how true!
Reason that I haven’t posted lately is that I am totally happy with the car and the volume of interesting posts (at least to me) to comment on is not very high. It could be a reflection of where the car is in the model life cycle. Maybe it's the economy that has people down and that’s why it’s time for some joking around.

ieb, I periodically go through a similar thought process about what car to get next; I have a longstanding addiction to getting new cars every 6 months, so I often test-drive other alleged supercars on fun roads when I want to reconfirm that my choice of a new AMG CL still makes the most sense for me
My periodic test drives quickly remind me about the sublime balance of performance, precision, safety, daily-useability and elegance that AMG CLs offer
And have several colleagues in my office who own more dynamic fleets of new AMG/F/P (refreshed every 6 mos or so) than my modest one 65, yet they seem to prefer to drive their CL63 030/65 daily and often up in the twisties on wkends, despite the various missles sitting in their garages: AMG CLs have a rather remarkable repeat buyer base who can easily drive any car on planet but opt for their CL most often

A black cl63 has always been my dream car, however, cant afford it!. Here in Australia, i have been able to buy my ML63 and C63 fand heavily modify both cars with various aftermakt crap for less than the cost of a stock CL63 = ridiculous
