Compare that to any exotic!

It will out handle just about anything on the road and will cost you well under $100k.

Mine has gone UP in value since I purchased it.

I can almost guarantee you will be the only person around who has one.
In all honesty, drive a 335i (or any turbo charged car for that matter. 997TT would be awesome). I own one and was going to upgrade to an M5. Drove it and came back VERY dissappointed. The bottom line is that the thrust that a turbo charged car would give you will feel a lot better than what any naturally aspirated car would ever be able to offer. I guess thats the kind of excitement you are looking for

C63 AMG / B8 A4
I would say buy a Porsche Cayman S model, i drove one and it is hands down one of the funnest cars I have driven. Some say that it is more fun to drive than a 911.

Yes, the CL is probably one of the nicest cars on the road. I get complements about every time I drive it and that's even in a town with CL's all over the place.

But looking for something smaller, more maneuverable, etc.

I like the suggestion of a black series CLK. Also looking at M3, C63.. what else?
BTW a "boss" of mine had a 750 and I had a 1973 BMW 2002 that I owned since 1973. He was always bragging about the 750 (us model) like everything else in his AI* life.

I tossed him the keys and said "If the 2002 starts on the first crank and yours does not, I get your car and you get mine."

He would not take the bet

Get a preowned aston-martin if you are in the UK forget Porsches they are death-mobiles - remember the 914 and the 914-6. Let VW buy them.

Will it corner over 1.06 GS and get 26 MPG?

Superchargers are preferred over turbo chargers all other things being equal. please do your research.

What is a 335i or 997T?

What is an M5 - a security division of the British Government?

What does "I own one" refer to? If you own an newer model NSX I can see why you would be disappointed with the other cars except the pre CL63 CL. Red heads, blondes and raven harried beauties.

Power is corruptive and does not equate to handling.

You've lost your mind! YOU need to do your research! Where did you arrive at such a conclusion?

I have lost my mind. Can you help me find it? It is is bigger than Stonehenge.

Please do my research for me. I don't have the time for such trivia - you do. I expect a 5 page description by Tuesday 900 hours Zulu-time.

But I am not wrong - disprove my assertions.

The USA BMWs have more bark than bite. The 3xx series is the best choice having owned Bimmers for over 30 yrs. In the EU BMWs are considered middle manager compensation cars or high rent rental cars for tourists.

Ferraris and Porsches are laughable death machines. Sorry I am so twisted.

If you want an intense visceral driving experience, try an Aston Martin V8 Vantage. I know it's not the fastest car out there, and a Porsche will handle curves better, but it sounds sick as hell. It is by far one of the most unique cars I have driven(and I've driven lots of cars). The fit and finish is great, almost every one is individual, and, at least here in the fairly well to do Chicago suburbs, I see more Gallardos and F430s than I do AMs. I would say it is the most intoxicating car I have driven ever.

I'll take that bet, there's a ton of them running around Chicago and their value is NOT that great. The car WAS great (for its time) but was getting long in the tooth and my C32 will actually hammer one in a straight (not in twisties of course) but here there's not many twisties. Its a 0-60 car at best in the low 6s to high 5s?? Nice car for a 90s classic.

As Jagger says "I'm lucky in love." Should never bet!

All the folks I know who drive them in Chicago drive them in the winter too. They were never designed to be a drag racer which was why the Viper and Vette "boys" didn't buy NSXes. They also didn't like the fact they couldn't keep up with them on a road course, as you allude to.

I think we are more in agreement than disagreement. I love my CL55, too.

+1 about the Vantage or just about any other AM. They are unique.

If the local dealer wasn't such a pretentious fool I would have bought an AM. The jerk wouldn't take a custom order for me suitable for European delivery. I wanted to drive in the UK for several weeks before shipping it home. He couldn't be bothered.

I'm glad I bought the AMG.

Yeah, it's fast. Sure, it's a cruiser and easy to drive. But I find it rather boring when it comes to handling and in turns.

I have a BMW 750Li which is more interesting to drive.

I'm not a troll and not trying to bash the CL but I think it's not my cup of tea.

My question for all of you (many of whom have 2nd cars) is what next? What's sporty enough to be "fun" to drive? I do about 20 miles of highway and 10 miles of streets just to get to work.

Thinking about... MB C63, BMW M3, Porsche Cayman, 911 S. What else should I consider and what do you all enjoy driving on a daily basis that handles better than the CL?
Your 750Li is more interesting to drive than the CL 63, hummm, im really having trouble figuring that one out.

Koenigsegg CCX-R. And run bio-fuel. If that doesn't get your juices flowing, then you can't be helped.
