'03 CL55 new battery or alternator?
Hey guys, great forum here. I've had a CL55 for about 3 years now, and due to limited driving have the old dead battery every so often if I leave it in the garage for a week or more. Shame, I know.
But now the battery won't keep a charge for even a day, even after jumping it and driving it for 45mins to an hour afterward. Next day, dead again.
Sorry for the newbie question... but does this sound like a battery that needs replacement? And if so... the last time I had a MB guy come out and jump it he said it might be better to put in an old school battery rather than the fancy new batteries because they keep charge longer. I live in California, so cold weather is never a concern for the battery.
Any recommendations on a replacement battery? Just a high powered duralast do the trick?
Or should I just get another OEM MB battery and get it set up on a trickle charger? She's going back to the leasing company in about 18 months, so I only need a solution that will last that long.
Thanks in advance.

It's probably the original battery. Since it's a lease and going back in 18 months, I wouldn't spend the money on an oem battery. You can check the alternator with a voltmeter. Check the voltage at the battery when the car is running, It should be about 13 to 14.5 volts.
