CL55 rear tires changed ride

I changed rear tires on my 2003 CL55 from stock to 275/40/18. It gave it a wider look but the car started to drift and bounce on bumps, I realigned it and rebalanced wheels but no luck. I'm not sure if the car bottoms out because of not adjusting offsets after changing tires. Any help guys!!!!!

you should have gone with a 35/18 to compensate for the increase in tire width to maintain the original sidewall height.

Do you mean 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear?

My car came with 275/35/18.
Then upgraded it to 285's, still felt a wider tire could be used.
Just got a set of 295's for the rear. Not sure if it's going to rub or not, will have to wait for spring time.
