Bluetooth Sound Qualtiy
Hello,
I just purchased the bluetooth module from my dealer for 293$. Plugs right in, no problems pairing the phone, but the sound quality is very bad. It sounds very chirpy and digital, doesn't sound like a connection strength issue.
Car is 05 CL 55.
Anyone else have this problem? Possible solutions?
Same puck in my friends SL and it sounds 10x better.

How did you get a puck at that price? That price is under dealer cost I am guessing it's some used or old unit. I would try using a different phone first second who is hearing this distorted sound? Is this sound coming from your speakers that sounds bad or is it how you sound to the person on the other end?

It was my lucky day, had the dealer thrown it in when buying an a 06 E class last week. He rounded up the price. IT is the newest version of the puck, and it's the one that is blue/silver, I checked this site regarding the software prior to purchasing.
The sound in my car is great, no problem, but people on the other side have issues, I've verified this by leaving myself lengthy voicemails. I've tried rotating the mic near th SOS button by the rear view mirror, also have tried altering my voice level and distance to the mic.
My phone a samsung blackjack2 doesn't allow for mic volume control.

The newest puck is all black with a part # of 6-7-87-6131, but if the puck is new it still shouldn't be an issue. From experience a lot of samsung phones are not compatible with the MB system, but I have not tried this particular phone. I would suggest trying a different phone first then take it to service and have the calibrate the mic volume you may be able to do this yourself, but I don't remember how try reading the command manual. Also I think your vehicle may have the microphone built into the mirror, the mic in the OCP could be used for the tele-aid.

Thanks for the help, I'll try a different phone, although in the SL the same phone/puck combo worked much better. Also I'll look into the mic volume and location, that may be the key.
I'll report back
