Looking @ 2005 CL65 or...

This looks to be a great online community and have spent time reading various posts, the FS section, etc. And yeah, filled out my profile, added pics (humbly said, a few cars you might like in there), yada yada...

Ok, i DO NOT want something FOR SLAE

Joking aside, i know with some online communities lowish production cars are such that someone, somewhere knows about a car. Anyone know about/has info on previous owner of a N. CA car for sale VIN ends in A045839?

Basically, have/had the boy toys and simply want a two door hard top and the CL65 seems intriguing. Yes, i know about service costs and to get or make sure it has a warranty. Prefer an unmolested car driven by an old lady only on Sundays to Church and always dealer serviced. With that dream probably DOA, how about a normally used car without stories? And yes, will take her to WGI (Watkins Glenn Intl) for a day or two so just to become familiar with her. Am facing the facts that a nice comfy land cruiser with some power would fit the bill for now.

ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.

Watkins Glen sounds fun...but just watch out for over cooking the brakes. These 4,600+lbs cruiser were meant for the Autobahn and not a road coarse. The normally used cars might be the better long-term bet. These cars do not take well to just sitting in the garage (especially the ABC suspension). Good luck with your search!

Thanks Tom and the track day would really just be to 'get to know her' one time thing and to let her 'breathe' a bit. Agree, the weight is what it is. Of course would flush the stock brake fluid for Motul 600 a day or two before the event then flush back to stock afterwards. She will basically be a daily land cruiser as my main mode of transportation.

If one lived in Germany i'd agree as have driven well into triple digit there and of course the Ring. On USA roads it makes no sense going much over the limit IMHO. Hate to be a 'wet blanket' here yet public highways are not the place to go 150 mph+ plus for me straight line speed bores me after 20 seconds. Agree the car is a nice land cruiser and that is what i am looking for.

FYI: Pocono Raceway's (lackluster imho) road course gives plenty of room to open her up too after the back chicane, though the back (going counter-clockwise) oval section also gets a bit boring. Guess you can tell am more the F1/road course type and not the NASCAR oval fan. Point of reference, NASCAR does NHMS at 100mph at T1 to T2, i have does 125+ many times in that same section.

But yeah, i know, the CL65 is not a Formula car and that is kinda my 'problem', there is no single car that does it all an the CL65 seems like vehicle that fulfills what is being sought as a land cruiser with good power. Thanks again and let us see what happens with this deal that is ongoing.
