Replacing/Changing running lights W215 CL55AMG

Replacing/Changing running lights W215 CL55AMG
So I bought some new bulbs as one of my parking/running lights is burned out. A buddy got a set of the LED ones off of ebay for his E55 and it took us maybe 2 mins to complete the install of his. In the engine bay of the CL55 AMG there is no room to get your hand back there and even when I can get my fingertips on the back of the orange connector inside the housing I cant get enough force on it to either A) Turn it or B) Pull it straight out
Another crazy thing is I called my local dealership and to my demise 3 people later, they told me I would need to setup an appointment to have the bumper removed to access the headlights out of car and figure out why its so hard to remove them.
Since then I have tried vampire/bent needle nose pliers to grab onto the connector and to no avail. What am I doing wrong here?
