Tires Wear/Life

Well after reading many posts about this subject I guess I am another one that is discouraged by fast tire wear. I don't drive that hard and don't track my car. 8k on Bridgestone R050 and back right is like a racing slick and back left is not far behind. I have ordered replacements and they are on the way. Anyone had simlar experience and any suggestion on how to extend tire life? Seemed that once the back right outside started to wear it did not take long for it the get really bad fast.

Good thing is I am taking the opprotunity to get my wheels refinsihed in the process. Me To Wife: "It would save money to do it all at once." Reply: "Okay since it will save us money"

Not to make your matters worse, I just put on my second set at 28,000 mi.
I'm not an old lady driver and consider my self average in terms of getting on the pedal.
Maybe my longevity is wheel alignments with my oil changes every 5K.

I drive mine like I stole it. I got 80,000 out of the fronts (stock) and replace the backs about every 6 months or so. 25,000 miles or so is all i get on the backs.

WOW! That is a ton more than I am getting. I have had alot a suspenion components replaced and made the assumption that MB dealer was doing an alinment each time. Better get that checked after new tires are installed. Can an Independent repair guy do alinments on w215 or is that a dealer item only?

I pay the xtra $50 or so and get the dealer to do it. Ask for a print out before and after. You'll be surprise that the dealer goes the xtra mile to get it right on spec vs independent shops.

Balancing and alignment every 5K miles lets you experience the way the car is meant to ride and handle especially at high speeds. Worth every penny.

I wore out my tires after 4 months, the inner of the tire wore out, I changed my inner tierod, upper control arm, bushing, and tie rack (goes into the ummm, gear), the dealer wanted over $3,000.00, so i decided to do it myself, its was easy, but it takes alot of time, I just want to make sure it was dine right, i started at noon and finished about 5:30. its well worth it, just screwing and tightening, lol
