How's this for coolant temperature control?
I did a small modification to the factory cooling system, the other night. Haven't had a chance to test it extensively, but this weekend at the track I did not see over 100°C (212° F) no matter how hard I ran it on the track. It was... 95'ish outside...?
Then, after I left the track, it climbed to 101° C for about 5 seconds and fell back down.
I'll have to test it in hotter temperatures, but so far, I think it will work well.
1st and 2nd pictures after the... modification. Third picture shows the typical temps it was running at before. It even helped with the IAT's a little. Not by much, but cooler engine = generally lower intake temperature.
I know, I know. "WTF is it!? Tell us or die!" Not just yet, more testing needs to be done. Once that's done, I'll let you all know.
