Have 2 friends with CL65'S they love them but very EXPENSIVE once out of warranty. Both have had numerous problems and leaks.

Bought it with 23K miles and has 45K on it now. I will have 2 more years warranty. Nothing broke that was not covered, no paint, bone stock, the car is really like new. I am on the 3rd set of MPS2's though and it seems you are at the gas pump every other day.

My wife drives it 90% of the time, but makes me take it anytime she is not going anywhere, so I can get it gassed up for her.

If I sell it for 20-30K in 2 years with 75K miles, I will have depreciated 10-15K a year. I think that is a bargain for this level car.

Plus I always loved the look. What will I replace it with in a couple of years?? We like it so much that we might set aside 10K a year for repairs
The CL65 was my dream car and dreams do come true.

I acquired a pristine one owner 2005 CL65 Black Beauty with 60k miles in Sept. for $35k. I absolutely love the W215 style and hate the new body style (maybe just the front but not the back for sure).

Knock on wood, no issues yet. Other then I need new tires, and I replaced a burned out license plate light (talk about overengineering to get the bulb out).

I did my homework and checked out most known items to check underneath before I bought. Before the Warranty expired, work was done to fix or just replace most things we know of on the CL's, ABC hose, intercooler pump, etc.. I have all the documentation with all FJ invoices/receipts.

Absolutely pristine other then a few paint chips on the front hood which I took care with careful touch up fillin.

It's awesome for the price.

I've already put away $500.00 per month since Sept in my own Warranty repair cookie jar for that rainy day; CD.

I'll probably change the oil, brake pads myself and have a independent mechanic to do the rotors when needed..

I'm enjoying it immensely, it's a great introduction to AMG for a Mercedes newbie and would do it again (SLS or SLR someday..)

Any know how many they made worldwide versus North America?

I understand Mercedes is putting in about $10,000 "money in the trunk" to clear out left over 2010s. I'm considering giving up my E63 when the lease is up. Anybody know how much off of MSRP people are getting for 2009 & 2010 CL s?

These cars are definitely getting cheaper, but regardless of what people will tell you, do get a warranty or at least have a good backup in funds for repairs. ABC does and will go wrong eventually, but if well maintained these cars can last a long time. (I have a 2001 S55 with 155k miles, while it has not been cheap, it's a pleasurable ownership and I intend to keep it trekking!)

I really do love the CL65, but I was honestly more excited by the 55k's. They have a much more aggressive sound and nature, I drove an SL55 back to back with a SL65 and Porsche 911 turbo 997. The SL55 was much more aggressive and fun to drive, it reminded me of a Corvette Z06 in it's demeanor. The SL65 disappointed me a bit after the Porsche, both are twin-turbo but the porsche just weighs so much less and puts that power down so impressively with the 4WD, that it left the SL65 seeming a bit heavy and not too exciting. (The exhaust is disappointing too, only when it turns on do you get that nice growl, but otherwise when WOT it isn't too exciting in the SL65.

Wow Thanks.
My car was babied and have history and receipt records from FJ at the direct FJ office location. Hopefully the warranty is available for a 2005 CL65 with 60+k miles in excellent condition.

I'll give them a call,

Thanks

1987 Buick GNX,SL65 Black, 1987 Buick Turbo Limited, 2010 GT500
again 90k miles on my 2006 cl65

And I would put $10,000.....it is in better condition then 50% of all the cars with a third the miles.....

and to top it off..... zero issues with car in the last 15k miles I have owned it and 32k miles before that.....

ALL THE ORIGINAL abc PARTS AS WELL!!!!

reliable? what do you think?

Fidelity is completely driven by current odometer reading. The price for Platinum on a CL65 with 60K mi will scare you. Of course, something letting go on that car of significance WITHOUT a Fidelity warranty will scare you even more.

They just raised prices early this month, too, so that won't help.

Fidelity is a great warranty company, I sell them, but be prepared for the price.

How about your houses? Do you buy those new as well? Or do you buy the used one with the soiled toilet and jizzed bedroom?
