CL 55 AMG power problem?
Hello everyone and thanks for reading this, I'm a new member with a new to me great car....an 03 CL 55 AMG and I truly luv it! BUT, I'm having a problem that maybe someone can help me with.....
First some background on me is in order....I'm an experienced auto mechanic, 25 + years of working on various american cars, hot rods, etc and own my own shop. I am NOT a MB tech but still have a very good understanding of mechanics and electronics, now with that said...
If I do several back to back 0-100 runs with the car ( now 2 will make this happen) all of a sudden I'm left with reduced power, feels like the supercharger is NOT engaged. And just recently one roll on from 40 up left the car "flat" at about 120 again like the supercharger disengaged. No trouble codes recorded, though I have not yet viewed real time data to see what is happening ( I'll do that next) seems to me something is reaching overtemp ( NOT coolant temp) and cutting back power. Could this be intake air temp/ charge temp? Is this normal? What's the fix? Find it hard to believe this is a normal situation.....few things more
Am ONLY running premium fuel
BOTH filters are new K&N's, fuel filter is new ( doubt it's a fuel problem)
happens during 35 degree weather even
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance.......Gene

To everyone thanks for the help, turns out the IC pump is done, going to replace it with the Johnson pump in addition to some other upgrades ( crissakes why not)
