" So I would create a spoiler that only sits on the top of the trunk lid, and does not wrap around the bottom. And to add a bit of a sporty touch, I would integrate a small tasteful maybe 8mm gurney flap. Basically, it would just be a small flared up edge at the back."

one question neal, so would the spoiler still look like the one we like (some what thick and high) but it wouldnt wrap the bottom or it would look thin and short(flared back) the picture you posted.

Ken, I really appreciate your help getting these group buys done, it is much appreciated that you are willing to make more then 1 purchase to help get these group buys to happen.

The spoiler although would not wrap around the bottom. We can do it any style. We can have it flare up like the CLK spoiler, or put a small gurney flap, we can do it either way. If you like a small flare in it, like the Black series, we can do that, We won't make it as big, but close enough to keep it all looking in proportion.

cool, i kinda like the clk63 black series spoiler but maybe a little bit bigger(but not to big). i like the aggressive look since the cl is a long and big couple.

Neal/Ken

I like these carbon fiber parts and I'm sure I'll like whatever ends up getting built.

That said, I stared at the back of my CL for a few mins today, and it seemed to me a little bit of a wraparound will be kinda cool. Maybe not a major wraparound, but a small one.

I don't have much of a designer eye on me, and I will be ok either way, but throught I'd throw is my 2c.

i like the spoiler to be some what to look like this one on the car, in terms of height to.
it would be nice if we could get a little bend/wraparound but i'll be fine with anything.

You see this picture of a Lorinser CL (random pictute I found on the net). Well, this is what I mean by not wraping around to the bottom. I would make ours sit like this, then of course add a nice well designed flared up edge on the back. I know what you guys are looking for....

Neal - I see what you mean. Yes, that looks quite slick and not way over the top. Definitely trust your taste and design.

I do not want to cover this area up with a spoiler, because I feel it will break up the look of the car if that line is covered. So I would create a spoiler that only sits on the top of the trunk lid, and does not wrap around the bottom. And to add a bit of a sporty touch, I would integrate a small tasteful maybe 8mm gurney flap. Basically, it would just be a small flared up edge at the back.

Examples of a gurney flap are below.... We are also making a spoiler with an integrated gurney flay for the W212 E-class, which I can post pictures of soon...

I like the gurney flap more that I like the add-on spoiler. Or is it a system?

How does one attach these?

What colors do they come in?

What is the aerodynamic effect and at what speed?

Well, we are not selling just the gurney flap. What we were trying to do was "integrate" one into the spoiler.

Not to rain on everyone's parade, but aside from bling, what's the point of a rear spoiler on a 215? The car is stable without one at 200+ MPH. Probably because it was designed to be able to go that fast without a spoiler.

probably the same reason why people drop thousands on wheel's. it's just personal taste in mods.

for me, the c/f spoiler is for looks and to match the c/f lip and diffuser.

The same reason people do anything for looks. If no one cared what anything looked like then why bother even having a good paint job on your car? We are not talking about a giant wing here, we are talking about a small spoiler. And just because a car comes from the factory without one does not ever mean there is no room for improvement. Btw, I have yet to see a CL go 200+ mph.

Fair enough. I agree with a car looking as well as it can, and (again), don't blame you guys for trying to make your rides look better. Maybe it's just me, but when I see a triple bookshelf spoiler on a car that wasn't factory equipped with one, my first thought is "Ricer". Now, for the record a "Ricer" is not a state of being, it's an attitude. And, no, I'm not calling you guys "Ricers", so simmer. The small spoiler you all are looking at is far from a triple bookshelf sized spoiler.

hi adam,
the c/f rear spoiler should be the same for all w215 cl. if we get 5 spoiler, neal can do it for $550 each and should be done in 2-3 month. it would be a limited 5 spoiler built only.
