CL 63 AMG M157 MCT test drive report


Did a drive test of 2011 CL 63 AMG, and would like to share some quick observations.
Basically a standing testament and proof I was wrong the whole time re worrying of AMG and turbo. The new M157 5.5L Bi-Turbo is not only polar bear friendly ( our avg 15litre / 100km for a very agressive run ), but uber ultra quick despite its bearing weight of the heaviest chassis with its variants, heavier than S sedan W221.
MCT is silk smooth ( as anticipated ), M157 ( even without performance package 1.3 bar boost ) powered acceleration is madder than SL 63 and E 63, with no resemblance of previous compressor engine or other turbo engined cars re lags and removed connection to the powerhouse.
This drivetrain ( M157 and MCT ) is not something only Greenpeace or WWF will love, but also petroheads and family.
