IC pump question

I have reads some threads about the Bosch IC pump issues on AMG's. I drove home tonight, but honestly the car doesn't feel like it has 600+\700+ and I started to wonder about the pump. The IC's are hot, but I popped the hood and the radiator was cool to touch. I am assuming that the IC rad is furthermost to front of car? No codes? I did order a EC Johnson m30 pump anyway. If pump failed wouldn't check engine light come on?

Ok.i really am not lazy....I did find plenty of articles on IC pump replacement. Alot discussed in other ares of this forum. I plan on swapping to aformentioned johnson cm30. My only question is the pumps location, looks like from diagrams that it sits in front on driverside? Can I gain access by removing engine undercover pan?

why dont you do the ice resovoir in the trunk and put the pump back there?
after you do this mod and fill with ice, your intercoolers will be ice cold to the touch and drop your intake temps to 55-60 deg

here is the least expensive datalogger to log IAT's. it also logs boost and other parameters-

If I really wanted to cool the IAT, the most pratical route IMO is meth/water kit. I run one on my heavily modded RS6, which for purposes is the car for now that will have all after mkt work done on it. My cl has 3 years left on a bumper to bumper and I really don't want to void it. The only mod will be Jerry tune, EC and BMC filters.
Thank you for your suggestions I appreciate it.

You need to either jump the IC pump and listed for it to run (there was a post very recently on how to do this) or push one of the bleed valves on the IC while the car is running and look for water coming out. This will tell you if it's running.

You won't get a check engine light.
